Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

Introduction

MealTimeVideo ("we," "us," or "our") operates mealtimevideo.com, a community platform for discovering and sharing videos to watch while eating. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

Information we collect

We may collect the following information when you use MealTimeVideo:

  • Account information: email address, username, profile photo, bio, and optional profile details you provide during onboarding or in settings.
  • Authentication data: if you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) through our authentication provider, Supabase.
  • Content and activity: videos you submit, votes, comments, saved videos, follows, notifications, and other interactions on the platform.
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and general analytics about how the service is accessed (such as browser type and device information).

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Provide, operate, and improve MealTimeVideo
  • Personalize your feed and recommendations
  • Display your profile, submissions, comments, and community activity
  • Send service-related notifications
  • Protect the security and integrity of our platform
  • Comply with legal obligations

Third-party services

MealTimeVideo uses trusted third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase for authentication, database hosting, and file storage
  • Google for optional sign-in via Google OAuth
  • YouTube for embedded video playback and metadata related to submitted videos
  • Vercel for hosting, consent-based traffic analytics, and performance insights
  • Sentry for operational error monitoring and sampled performance traces. We configure it without default personal data or session replay.
  • PostHog for consent-based product events, page views, funnels, and retention analysis. PostHog session replay is disabled.
  • Microsoft Clarity for consent-based session recordings, heatmaps, and interaction insights. Input fields and sensitive administrative content are masked.

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. When you sign in with Google, Google's use of your data is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar browser storage to run MealTimeVideo. When you first visit, you can choose Essential only or Accept all. You can change your choice anytime via Cookie settings in the site footer.

  • Essential (always on): authentication cookies from Supabase so you can stay signed in and use your account. These are required for login and cannot be turned off while using the service.
  • Analytics and recordings (optional): Vercel Web Analytics, Speed Insights, PostHog product analytics, and Microsoft Clarity recordings and heatmaps load only after you accept all. PostHog and Clarity receive an opaque account ID after login, never your password or authentication token. You can withdraw consent through Cookie settings.
  • Error monitoring (always on): Sentry receives sanitized application errors and sampled performance traces so we can keep the service reliable. Default personal-data collection and Sentry session replay are disabled.
  • Preferences (stored locally): theme (light/dark), dismissed banners, and short email-send cooldown timers. These stay in your browser and are not used for advertising.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work properly if essential cookies are disabled.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in these situations:

  • With service providers that help us operate the platform
  • When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
  • With other users, when you choose to make information public (such as your username, profile, comments, or video submissions)

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Analytics and monitoring providers retain information according to their configured retention periods. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain it for legal or security purposes.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your personal information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Request a copy of your data

You can update much of your profile information in your account settings. To make other requests, contact us at support@mealtimevideo.com.

Children's privacy

MealTimeVideo is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of MealTimeVideo after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
